OO Romance—The Yuri Of All Yuri! - Chapter 10
Bian Lu watched Su Yi get into the police car headed for the detention center. In the end, she still did not explain to Su Yi why she had suddenly pulled out the car key. It was not that she did not want to explain. She simply had not found the chance.
It seemed she could only explain fifteen days later—assuming they had not switched back by then.
Personal belongings could not be brought into the detention center, especially phones. So Bian Lu held a phone that nominally was not hers but was actually hers, used a driver’s license that nominally was hers but was actually not hers, drove a car that nominally was hers but was actually not hers, and returned to a villa that nominally was hers but was actually not hers.
Even Bian Lu herself found that long, twisted string of logic funny.
She gave herself fifteen days.
Although she had not done it intentionally, and although the criminal record would be left on her own body, and although Su Yi was not willing to be detained on her behalf, Bian Lu still owed Su Yi a favor in the end.
For the sake of that favor, she would treat all of Su Yi’s mockery and humiliation toward her in her previous life as passing smoke. She would no longer hold it against her.
Other people were reborn to seek revenge. She, however, had been reborn to forgive. If those who cursed her knew about this, they would probably call her a fake white lotus and true green tea again.
But it did not matter.
Her reputation had never been good, and she did not care what others thought.
She still could not understand why heaven had allowed her to be reborn. Surely it was not because heaven was so bored that it wanted to watch her repeat a meaningless life all over again?
The things she needed to do would not change just because she had been reborn. She still had no other choice. She still had to step into the heavy footprints she had left in her previous life and walk that road again.
She did not want to start over.
Why not simply drive straight out of the lane and crash into the roadside? She would die there, and that would be that. In any case, she would not live past thirty.
She gripped the steering wheel, habitually smiling as she stared ahead. No one noticed the emotions surging inside her, and no one would know that her blood was rushing wildly through her veins. Her foot hovered over the accelerator, and the desire to kill herself nearly broke through its restraints and burned away every last shred of reason she had.
Die.
Just die like this.
Then everything would have nothing to do with you anymore.
Then even in death, you wouldn’t have to remain restless.
She abruptly closed her eyes and slammed her foot down hard.
But it did not land on the accelerator.
It landed on the brake.
Screech!
The tires scraped violently against the road, producing an ear-piercing sound. The BMW following behind her nearly failed to brake in time and almost crashed into her car. The BMW driver rolled down his window and cursed furiously, while Bian Lu clutched the steering wheel tightly, her body rigid, her eyes shut tight.
No.
No, she could not.
This body was not hers.
It was Su Yi’s.
If she wanted to die, then she should die by herself. Why drag someone else down with her?
Bang, bang!
The road-raging BMW driver pounded hard on the car window twice. Bian Lu opened her eyes and turned to look.
She clearly did not want to smile at all, but the muscles of her face seemed to have their own will. They automatically pulled up the corners of her lips, moved her cheekbones, and arranged themselves into her habitual smile.
She rolled down the window and said, “I’m sorry. I suddenly felt a little dizzy just now and stepped on the brake.”
The BMW driver glared coldly. After such a huge scare, how could he possibly let it go just because she apologized? There was a reason road rage was jokingly called an illness. Once that anger flared up, it was very difficult to calm down without fully venting it.
Bian Lu was already prepared to be cursed at again.
Unexpectedly, the BMW driver opened his mouth, looked at her strangely, and swallowed back the words that had already reached his tongue. In the end, he only said, “Pay attention next time,” then turned and left.
He calmed down just like that?
Bian Lu found it somewhat inexplicable.
Surely it was not because Su Yi was so beautiful that no matter how angry he was, he could not bring himself to lash out?
The BMW driver returned to his car with a chill running down his back. His wife was in the passenger seat. Seeing that his expression was off, she asked, “What’s wrong? You went to curse someone out, so why do you look like you were the one who got cursed?”
The BMW driver let out a long breath, still shaken. “That woman is sick!”
“Huh? What illness?”
“I don’t know what illness. It’s just that her eyes were terrifying. You didn’t see it. It’s hard to describe. She felt like one of those beautiful women in horror movies who’s possessed by a ghost.”
When his wife heard that, she got angry. “So you saw she was pretty and started having dirty thoughts?”
“No, no, no, really, no.” The BMW driver waved his hands repeatedly. “You didn’t see that woman’s eyes. She had a smile on her face, but her eyes looked like she wanted to eat someone alive. The veins at her temples were bulging too. She smiled so gently it was creepy, like she was about to drag me into the car and swallow me whole in the next second.”
“Do I look like I believe that?”
“It’s true, honey!”
Whether it was true or not, his wife had no chance to verify it. Bian Lu calmed herself, restarted the car, and did not go home. Instead, she drove straight to Cen Qingke’s residential compound.
She would use these fifteen days to do everything that needed to be done. With the help of “Su Yi’s” identity, she should be able to save a lot of time.
Fifteen days later, no matter how far things had progressed, her focus would shift to Su Yi. She would find a way to switch back with Su Yi.
She only needed to endure until then.
It would not be long.
But what if—what if they could never switch back for the rest of their lives?
No. That would not happen.
Her own life was already a complete mess. She could not ruin someone else’s life too. She would do everything she possibly could to switch them back.
She took out her own phone. Now that she was Su Yi, she naturally could not call Cen Qingke using Su Yi’s voice.
She could only open Cen Qingke’s message thread and send Cen Qingke a message in Bian Lu’s name.
With her many years of understanding of Cen Qingke, Bian Lu knew that Cen Qingke was too lazy to pay attention to people she did not care about. Even if Su Yi had used her body to offend Cen Qingke, Cen Qingke would not specifically block her.
In fact, in her previous life, even when Cen Qingke grew extremely sick of her, she had never blocked her. In Cen Qingke’s words, Bian Lu did not deserve the effort of being blocked.
But similarly, Cen Qingke did not read messages sent by people she did not care about.
So Bian Lu had to edit this message carefully. She had to make those pitifully few words that appeared in the notification bar catch Cen Qingke’s interest and draw her into tapping it open.
Bian Lu pondered for a moment. She revised the first message again and again, making it as concise as possible.
[Little Lu: Su Yi is coming to get pheromones from you.]
Su Yi.
Cen Qingke’s white moonlight across two lifetimes.
What could possibly be more attractive than her name?
Sure enough, the message had barely been sent when Cen Qingke’s call came in right after it.
Bian Lu was now Su Yi. She could not answer Bian Lu’s phone, so she directly hung up and sent another message.
[Little Lu: She’s already on her way. She’ll go straight upstairs when she arrives.]
After sending that, she turned off the phone.
Cen Qingke stood in the middle of her messy living room, looking at the vases and teacups she had smashed all over the floor because of Bian Lu’s “rebellion.” Her mind was still blank.
Su Yi was coming?
Su Yi?
The Su Yi whose contact information she had tried and failed to get for years? The Su Yi she could not even find a chance to approach for a single conversation? The Su family’s only daughter, Su Yi?!!
How was that possible?
How could Su Yi possibly know someone like Bian Lu?
Even if they were schoolmates and in the same year, they were not in the same major. Their teaching buildings were different too. Although they took some public lectures together, they had had no interaction for three years of university. How could they suddenly have a connection?
And why had Bian Lu asked Su Yi to come get pheromones?
Why would Su Yi help with something like this?
In a panic, Cen Qingke called Bian Lu, wanting to ask what exactly was going on.
Powered off?!
She actually dared to turn off her phone?!!
Cen Qingke found it both ironic and laughable.
In a big forest, there were truly all kinds of birds. Just because Bian Lu had gotten to know Su Yi, did she really think she had climbed onto the Su family’s branch? She actually dared to hang up on Cen Qingke and turn off her phone?!
Who did she think she was?
Did she really think Su Yi would be friends with her?
The kind of person Su Yi looked down on most was someone like her!
That’s right.
How had Cen Qingke gotten so confused?
Su Yi had always looked down on everyone. Bian Lu’s reputation at school was also so awful. How could Su Yi possibly have anything to do with her?
Bian Lu must have regretted acting tough after making that scene. Knowing Cen Qingke would not bother with her, she had deliberately pulled this stunt to attract her attention. No wonder she had turned off her phone after sending the messages and did not even dare answer Cen Qingke’s call!
With a cold laugh, Cen Qingke went into the bathroom, stripped off her nightgown, and turned on the shower.
Bian Lu had only casually sent Su Yi’s name, and Cen Qingke had already lost her composure. How ridiculous. She had not even thought it through—if even Cen Qingke looked down on someone like Bian Lu, how could Su Yi possibly think highly of her?
She would shower first.
After showering, she would go out to eat.
She still had a meeting in the afternoon.
Before she even finished showering, the doorbell rang.
Irritated, Cen Qingke wrapped herself casually in a bath towel and opened the door while still drying her hair.
Outside the door, sunlight slanted across the corridor, and tiny dust motes drifted in the air.
The white moonlight she had longed for day and night stood there quietly. Her fiery red dress was bold and beautiful, and her smiling face was so dazzling it seemed almost dreamlike.
Cen Qingke’s eyes widened slightly. Her heart uncontrollably skipped a beat.
The towel she had been using to dry her hair slipped to the floor.
On the other side of the city, Su Yi got out of the police car and entered the detention center.
Through the tall surrounding walls, she looked up at the bright blue sky. The weather was excellent, but her mood was utterly terrible.
Rumor had it that Bian Lu was naturally promiscuous, that she felt uncomfortable all over if she went even a single day without being slept with.
Although Su Yi did not want to believe those rumors, it was easy to stay indifferent when something had nothing to do with her. Now that the matter involved herself, she had no choice but to imagine the worst possible scenario.
She had caused Bian Lu to lose her patron.
Would Bian Lu use Su Yi’s body to do reckless things in revenge?
She wouldn’t, right?
She probably wouldn’t.
