A Faceful Of Lovey-Dovey PDA - Chapter 1
Dazzling flashes burst over her. Dressed in a black knee-length dress, Chu Mei held the trophy in her hands and spoke into the microphone in a soft, delicate voice. “There are many people I want to thank for winning this award. I want to thank my fans, my family, my manager, my… blahblahblah…”
They were all ordinary, conventional words of thanks, but coming from Chu Mei’s mouth, they somehow became utterly captivating. Her eyes were soft and flirtatious, her figure curved in all the right places, and when the lights fell on her black dress, it was as if they had wrapped her in a layer of honeyed glaze. Especially that perky butt of hers—forget male fans, even her female fans wanted to go up and give it a squeeze. Her eyes were long and narrow, and when she smiled, the corners seemed to tilt upward, unbelievably alluring. The “Mei” in Chu Mei’s name might as well have been born for her. The title of showbiz’s resident vixen belonged to her without question.
In the cafeteria of Tianchuang Technology, the television screen was broadcasting the award ceremony live.
Chu Mei’s coquettish laughter made every man present itch with desire, while the women could not help feeling jealous. Some of them had originally wanted to complain a little, but because President Su had arrived, every word was swallowed back down into their stomachs. At most, they could only exchange glances now and then or mutter a few words under their breath.
Su Qin watched the livestream quietly. On screen, Chu Mei smiled like a fox spirit who had just finished feeding on human vitality and was about to return to her cave to report in. The cameraman was extremely professional too. He even deliberately panned the camera around to show all of her rumored lovers in the audience. Unfortunately, there were simply too many of them. By the time the camera finished making a full circle, the main character, Chu Mei, had already finished her acceptance speech and was twisting her perky butt as she left the stage.
Her assistant, Amy, handed Su Qin a cup of coffee. “President Su, the same as usual tonight?”
Su Qin nodded. “Send a low-profile car to pick her up.”
“Yes.” Amy answered with the utmost respect and did not dare say anything else, but inside, waves were already surging. Who could have imagined that Chu Mei, the woman who dominated the film industry and stole the hearts of countless young men, actually had an ambiguous, improper relationship with her boss?
—
After stepping down from the award ceremony, Chu Mei had only just sat in a chair to rest for a moment when one of her rumored lovers, Qi Haoqing, walked over. He was wearing a suit and looked full of energy. “Come on, Chuchu. Brother will take you to a party to celebrate.”
Chu Mei smiled sweetly. “Aiya, Brother Qi, I’m too tired. You go ahead. I need to hurry back, soak my feet, and eat something to replenish my strength.”
“Hey, what couldn’t you eat at my place?” Qi Haoqing stared fixedly at Chu Mei’s chest. Damn, he had not seen this girl for a few days, and she really had grown capable—her chest had gotten another size bigger.
Chu Mei rubbed her head. “But I feel so awful. Right now, I only want to eat a bowl of porridge my mom made. It’s too plain for your kind of fun, so I won’t go and ruin everyone’s mood.”
Qi Haoqing had no choice but to leave in frustration. Chu Mei’s manager, Zhen Fei, came over and looked at her watch. “Let’s go, Chuchu. Time to go home and drink porridge.”
When they walked out of the hall, the sky had already darkened somewhat. Chu Mei stood outside wrapped in a coffee-colored suit jacket, her long legs exposed as she shivered while waiting for the car. Quite a few people from the industry passed by and greeted her, so she inevitably had to respond with a bright smile. Ten minutes later, Chu Mei’s face was practically about to freeze into an icicle. She complained to Zhen Fei beside her, “Go tell President Su that if she doesn’t come pick me up soon, this old lady won’t acknowledge her as my sugar mommy anymore!”
The moment Su Qin was mentioned, Chu Mei instantly changed from her previous elegant and poised self into a shrew. Just as she was baring her teeth and preparing to make a fuss, a black Magotan stopped in front of her.
The car window rolled down, perfectly revealing Su Qin’s sugar-mommy face.
“Get in!”
Her voice was cold, her tone indifferent. Sugar Mommy Su clearly seemed to be in a very bad mood. Chu Mei did not dare say a word and quietly rolled into the car. Seeing the trouble finally resolved, Zhen Fei let out a sigh of relief.
As soon as she got into the car, Chu Mei could not help complaining, “Why did you come so late? And why are you driving this crappy car?”
Su Qin’s expression was arrogant and cool. One hand on the steering wheel, she said, “Keep talking and I’ll throw you out.”
Chu Mei: “…”
Depressed, Chu Mei shrank into the front passenger seat and began rummaging around. “Where’s the chocolate? Why don’t I see my favorite chocolate?” Chu Mei had developed her love of chocolate back in middle school. After all these years, with Su Qin indulging her, not only had she never repented, she had only grown worse.
The car was filled with Su Qin’s faint lemon scent. Chu Mei smelled it and felt her mood improve immensely, sweeping away her earlier fatigue.
While they were waiting at a red light, Su Qin looked at her and said flatly, “Auntie said your health hasn’t been good lately, so you need to adjust your diet. Stop eating chocolate.”
Chu Mei immediately exploded. “Who said my health isn’t good? I have curves in all the right places. I’m a sexy goddess!” After saying that, Chu Mei reached into her chest and, with one forceful tug, pulled out the sponge pads and threw them into the back seat. “Fake really can’t compare to the original. They were suffocating me.”
Looking at the sponge pads that had been rubbed out of shape, Su Qin’s long-cold face finally showed a slight ripple. She watched Chu Mei bend over, still unwilling to give up as she searched for chocolate, and smiled. Then her hand moved onto Chu Mei’s round, perky butt.
Chu Mei: “…!!!???”
As if she had been electrocuted, Chu Mei sat bolt upright. She widened her eyes and stared at Su Qin in disbelief.
Su Qin withdrew her hand and said slowly, “Everyone in the cafeteria was talking about you today.”
Chu Mei swallowed. “And then?” What did that have to do with you getting handsy?
Su Qin curled her lips. “Although they were very quiet, your butt became the main focus. Everyone wanted to feel how soft it was.”
“So you felt it on everyone’s behalf?” The redness on Chu Mei’s face faded. Su Qin nodded solemnly. “Smart.”
“You—” Chu Mei was just about to demand justice from Su Qin when her phone rang. She rolled her eyes at Su Qin, glanced at the incoming call, and picked up. “Hello~ Boss Xiao, haha, thank you, no, no, not at all. Without your support, how could I have today?”
The warmth on Su Qin’s face quickly faded because of this call.
Chu Mei’s voice turned so sweet it could melt into a person’s heart. “Aiya, celebrate for me? No need, no need. I appreciate the thought. Another day, I must personally come to your door and thank you. Without your keen eye for talent, how could I have today? What? Dinner? No problem at all. Mm-hmm, you set the time. I’ll accompany you.”
After hanging up, Chu Mei coughed and explained somewhat unnaturally, “Our boss. She insisted on treating me to dinner.”
Su Qin gave a cold snort. “What am I to you? Do you need to explain things to me?”
Chu Mei turned her head and looked at Su Qin. Today, Su Qin was wearing Chu Mei’s favorite white shirt and black suit pants. She looked incredibly restrained and abstinent, especially when the wind outside the car window blew in. From head to toe, she had the air of a fairy Sister.
“You’re my Sister. The Sister I grew up with since we were little, my childhood sweetheart.” Chu Mei’s voice was soft and sweet enough to make someone want to punch her. Su Qin glanced at her and floored the gas pedal.
Sister? Sister, huh. Heh.
“Oh right, I haven’t asked you yet. Why did you come pick me up so late? No matter what, I won an award. I’m someone on the level of a film queen now. Next time, can you at least line up all those important and unimportant work matters of yours?” Chu Mei could not help complaining.
Su Qin answered coldly, “I was busy.”
“Busy with what?” Chu Mei finally found a small piece of chocolate. Satisfied, she held it in her mouth and smiled until her eyes curved into crescents. She just knew Su Qin was not that cruel.
Su Qin raised an eyebrow and answered, “A blind date.”
“What?” Before she could even bite into the chocolate, Chu Mei nearly bit off her own tongue. Su Qin looked at her stunned, adorable expression, freed one hand, and patted her face. “Little girl, your Sister was delayed because she went on a blind date. Sorry about that.”
—
After arriving at Su Qin’s house, Chu Mei released all her anger on the crawfish.
She wore gloves and ate until her mouth was covered in oil. She had even tossed her shoes aside and was barefoot. Where was the film queen from earlier now?
Su Qin brought her a cup of plain water. Chu Mei shoved it away. “I want alcohol.”
Su Qin frowned. “There isn’t any. Just make do. Look at how sloppy you are.”
“Oh? You just finished a blind date and now you’re already starting to disdain me? What kind did you meet? A golden turtle son-in-law? An overseas turtle? A diamond turtle?” Every word out of Chu Mei’s mouth revolved around turtles, and the jealousy filling the air was about to lift the roof off Su Qin’s house.
A smile appeared at the corner of Su Qin’s lips. She pressed her lips together. “Not bad. A PhD, one meter eighty-three, and he really is an overseas returnee.”
“Fuck, why does this crawfish taste so awful! Do you have any turtles? I want to drink turtle blood. I heard it’s very nourishing.” Chu Mei’s heart was practically dripping blood. If she had known this would happen, why had she come to Su Qin’s place for crawfish at all? She might as well have gone partying with Qi Haoqing, or better yet, really gone home to drink a bowl of porridge made by her mom.
Su Qin sighed, took a tissue, and wiped the oil from the corner of Chu Mei’s mouth. “All right, stop making trouble. Hurry and go take a shower. It’s been a whole day. Aren’t you tired?”
“Tired? Why would I be tired? I didn’t go on a blind date, so how could I be tired?” Chu Mei was still muttering complaints, but Su Qin had already turned and gone to shower.
By the time Su Qin finished showering, blow-dried her hair, and lay on the bed to rest, Chu Mei came out of the bathroom with her hair still wet. She did not bother drying it and simply flopped down beside Su Qin. Then she turned over, wrapped one arm around Su Qin’s waist, and buried her head in Su Qin’s arms.
“What’s wrong?” Su Qin stroked Chu Mei’s hair and looked at her. Beside the bed stood a photo of the two of them from elementary school. In the picture, Chu Mei was smiling as she sprawled over Su Qin’s back, while Su Qin carried her and smiled at the camera as well. The two girls in the photo looked so young and happy.
“Do you like overseas returnees?” Chu Mei’s voice was muffled. Su Qin stroked her face, which was as smooth as a peeled century egg, and her heart softened into a complete mess. “No.”
“Really?” Chu Mei immediately lifted her head. Su Qin looked into her eyes and nodded seriously. “Yeah. I don’t like them.”
Yes, yes, yes!
In her heart, Chu Mei threw up a victory sign. She got up, dragging her slippers as she walked out.
“Where are you going?” Su Qin frowned. Without turning back, Chu Mei said, “I’m going to eat crawfish. It’s all because of you. You ruined my mood earlier and affected my performance.”
Su Qin was speechless. “Is it really all right for you to indulge your figure like this right after winning Best Actress?”
Chu Mei hummed a little tune. “What do you care? People who love me are rushing forward one after another. What do I have to be afraid of? But, Ah Qin, I’m really not saying I look down on you finding someone or anything. I just think, well, for a perfectly good grown man, instead of eating, drinking, and having fun, he actually devotes himself to studying all the way to a PhD. There must be something wrong with him. And an overseas returnee too. Tsk, tsk. Just hearing it sounds abnormal.”
Su Qin listened to her nonsense in amusement. “Is that so? Then tomorrow I’ll go find someone locally born and raised who isn’t a PhD?”
Chu Mei fell silent at once. As she ate crawfish, she waved a fist toward Su Qin inside the bedroom. That heartless woman. A fox spirit like her had been right in front of Su Qin for more than twenty years, and Su Qin turned a blind eye to her, yet she had nothing better to do than meet some overseas returnee? Hmph, that overseas returnee was shameless too. If he dared touch even a single hair on her Su Qin, she would drain his blood and drink his flesh as soup!
Inside the bedroom, Su Qin held a photo of the two of them from their school days and stared at it in a daze. Time really passed so quickly. She still remembered when they were in middle school, when Chu Mei, whose chest had not even grown yet, stuck out her chest and said to her, “When Sister grows up, I’m going to become a star, earn big money, and keep you as my woman!”
And now, Chu Mei really had become a Best Actress-level star. So why had she still not come to keep her?
Su Qin looked at Chu Mei outside, happily eating crawfish until her eyes narrowed into slits, and let out a faint sigh.
—Little girl, your Sister really has been waiting until the daylilies have gone cold.
