A Faceful Of Lovey-Dovey PDA - Chapter 5
Yang Feng had only just run over and had not even figured out what was going on when Su Qin reached Chu Mei one step ahead of him and pulled her into her arms. Nervously, she looked at Chu Mei’s face. “How is it? Did anything get smashed?”
Chu Mei felt a little like crying. “My nose feels sore.” More and more blood flowed from her nose. Chu Mei could not stop it with her hand at all.
“Lean against me.” As Su Qin spoke, she took tissues out of her pocket and pressed them over Chu Mei’s nose. “You were just playing basketball. How did you manage to hit your face?”
“And you still have the nerve to say that, wu—” Chu Mei felt even more wronged the moment she heard this. Her arms wrapped around Su Qin’s waist, and she pressed so hard against her that she left five red finger marks. “If you didn’t like tall idiots, would I have come here for no reason to practice basketball?”
Yang Feng, who was watching from the side, was stunned by these two people who had completely forgotten everyone else existed. Holy shit. Was this a live, high-definition, sweet, lovey-dovey, passion-sparkling yuri scene between two little sisters?
Su Qin’s heart ached over Chu Mei’s nosebleed. “All right, all right, don’t move.” As she spoke, she turned to look at Yang Feng. “Could I trouble you to pass me that bottle of water?”
Su Qin’s voice was gentle. Although it was not loud, her delicate features were enough to amaze anyone. Yang Feng’s face turned red. “Okay.”
Chu Mei, who had originally calmed down a little in Su Qin’s arms, saw this scene and felt her heart shatter again. “Why are you flirting with people everywhere? Can’t you just look at me and me alone?”
“All right, all right, I’ll look at you.” Su Qin held Chu Mei’s head in place and stared straight at her. But at first glance, Chu Mei’s face was a little swollen from being hit, and there was blood and mucus all over her nose. She really did look a bit like Zhu Bajie.
Su Qin could not help bursting into laughter. Beside them, Yang Feng glanced at Chu Mei and laughed along too.
Amid the two of them laughing, Chu Mei’s tears sprayed all over the ground.
It was not until they got home, when Su Qin held Chu Mei’s hand and bought her a Snowman ice cream, that Chu Mei finally cheered up a little.
“What were you making trouble for? It’s a Saturday. Instead of staying at home, you insisted on going to the park. You got hit by a ball and made yourself a joke for others, didn’t you?” Ever since they were little, Su Qin’s IQ had been several levels higher than Chu Mei’s. She had clearly come to investigate a love rival, but she hid it much more deeply than Chu Mei did.
Sure enough, one sentence made Chu Mei, who was already not that bright and had just been dazed by a basketball, furious. “What’s there to be afraid of? He’s just some passerby. Hmph. If you hadn’t suddenly appeared and called me ‘little girl,’ scaring me like that, would I have fallen?”
Seeing that Chu Mei was about to get worked up again, Su Qin quickly pinched her hand. “All right, my little ancestor, calm down for a bit. What has been wrong with you lately? What exactly are you throwing a tantrum about?” Just a passerby? Su Qin had gotten the answer she wanted, and the gloom in her heart was swept clean.
If this topic had not been mentioned, it would have been fine, but the moment it was brought up, Chu Mei was filled with bitter tears. “I can’t stand seeing you be close to other people.”
“Why?” Su Qin looked at Chu Mei with a smile that was not quite a smile. Could it be that one basketball to the face had finally knocked enlightenment into her?
Chu Mei licked her Snowman ice cream. “Ever since we were little, you’ve always been closest to me. No matter what it was, you thought of me first. I don’t want anyone else sharing my love. It’s just like being an only child. If my parents suddenly gave me a little sister, how could I stand it?”
Su Qin: “…”
“So,” Chu Mei summarized herself very well, “in order not to make me psychologically unbalanced, you should just keep me as your only baby.”
“Heh, Chu Mei, you’ve really gotten impressive.” Su Qin sneered. The heart that had only just begun to warm up cooled down again, and her mouth turned cold along with it. “I don’t want a baby like you, with pine-nut eyes, a walnut nose, and a tomato mouth.”
“What are you saying?” Chu Mei was unhappy. “Even though we’re close, you still can’t insult my character.”
“When did I insult your character…” Su Qin no longer had the strength to roast her.
Chu Mei bit off the last mouthful of her Snowman ice cream. Her nose was still stuffed with tissues to stop the bleeding, yet she said with complete seriousness, “Ah Qin, I’m going to become a star in the future.”
Strongly suppressing the laughter in her heart, Su Qin looked at her pig face with the same seriousness. “Why?”
Chu Mei’s lively eyes looked at Su Qin. “That way, I can earn lots of money, then keep you as my woman, hide you away, and not let anyone else look at you. I’ll be the only one who gets to admire you.”
Although the words were awkward, Su Qin felt warm inside when she heard them. She nodded, held Chu Mei’s hand, and said seriously, “All right. I’ll be waiting.”
Children’s playful words unexpectedly became the goal Chu Mei would strive for all her life. But who could have expected that thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river—when she really did become a Best Actress, blossomed into her looks, and became beautiful, ready to keep Su Qin as her woman, Su Qin had already taken charge of a company and become the young female CEO everyone envied, the glittering Gold Sponsor Su. This world… really did still judge by faces after all…
Holding hands, the two passed by Lin Xueyin’s house and wanted to go in to play for a while, but Mother Lin told them that Lin Xueyin had gone to play with her Sister Fang first thing in the morning. Su Qin clicked her tongue repeatedly when she heard it, but Chu Mei grinned so hard her teeth showed. She just knew it. Her Ah Yin would absolutely never lie to her!
As usual, Su Qin first sent Chu Mei home. As soon as they entered, Mother Su and Mother Chu were drinking tea.
“You’re back?” The two old ladies were clearly somewhat disappointed. Why had these two come back holding hands?
When Mother Chu saw Chu Mei clearly, she was shocked. “How did you make yourself look like this?”
Chu Mei was very helpless. “Mom, as my biological mother, shouldn’t you come up and show concern for me first?”
“Okay.” Mother Chu stood up and stared carefully at Chu Mei’s nose. “Daughter, what happened to you? Mommy is so concerned about you.”
Chu Mei: “…”
Su Qin coughed. “Mom, Auntie, you misunderstood. Chuchu doesn’t have a boyfriend. She really went out to play basketball.”
“Exactly.” Chu Mei, who had been misunderstood, was very angry. “What kind of person do you take me for? My red heart is devoted to studying. How could I possibly mess around in romance?”
Mother Chu did not know whether to laugh or cry. “Child, why are you making it sound so serious?”
Mother Su was also amused. “All right, you two go wash your hands. In a while, come next door for hotpot.”
As soon as they heard there was hotpot, both little girls smiled. Su Qin pulled Chu Mei to the bathroom, wet the towel, and carefully wiped Chu Mei’s face for her. Su Qin’s hair smelled fragrant. Chu Mei could not help grabbing a strand and bringing it to her nose to smell. “Ah Qin, you’re so beautiful, and so gentle too. I really want to cling to you for the rest of my life.”
Su Qin’s hand trembled. “What are you doing? Why did you suddenly become so obedient?” Together for a lifetime? She wanted that very much too.
Chu Mei pouted. “It’s not that I’m obedient. I just feel like, now that I’ve become this ugly, you can still look at me so gently. It must definitely be true love.”
Su Qin: “…”
Ten minutes later, Chu Mei’s scream came from the bathroom. “Be gentler!”
Su Qin sneered. “Will you learn your lesson if I’m gentle?!”
The two mothers, who were preparing the vegetables, heard the sounds of the two girls play-fighting and shook their heads helplessly. What a pity that they were both girls. If one were a boy and the other a girl, how wonderful would that be? Why would they still need to worry about early romance or not? The two of them could just get together.
—
Sister Fang felt that after being brave and heroic for more than ten years, she had finally met an enemy for the first time.
Standing in the doorway, Sister Fang looked helplessly at Lin Xueyin. “How did you find your way here?”
Lin Xueyin looked fixedly at her. “I missed you, so I came.”
Holy shit…
Sister Fang expressed that the person before her was definitely an old hand. After all her years of being the domineering, streetwise Sister Fang, she had finally met an opponent.
“What are you here for? I’m very busy.” Sister Fang stood planted in the doorway and refused to let Lin Xueyin inside. Lin Xueyin did not make things difficult for her either. “What are you busy with? Take me with you.”
“I’m going to deliver milk.” As Sister Fang spoke, she closed the door and went downstairs to push out her bicycle. Lin Xueyin paused, then followed her.
“Coming?” Sister Fang smiled as she looked at her. She wore a sun hat on her head, one foot planted on the ground. Under the sunlight, her fair skin was almost translucent, making her whole person look as lovable as a porcelain doll.
Lin Xueyin looked at her in fascination and nodded. “Of course I’m coming. Through wind and rain, I’ll walk with you.”
Sister Fang: “…”
In front of Sister Yin of sweet talk, she conceded defeat.
Sister Fang rode her bicycle with bottles of milk placed in the basket at the front. At every household, she placed the milk at the door and arranged it neatly.
At first, Lin Xueyin was somewhat surprised. Sister Fang arranged the milk seriously, without the slightest hint of embarrassment. Lin Xueyin adapted quickly, and after following Sister Fang to deliver to several households, she could already hop off the bike and help at each destination without being told.
Wang Yanfang looked at the busy girl in front of her and felt a little warmth in her heart. “Thank you. I’ll treat you to lunch at noon.”
Lin Xueyin wiped away her sweat and shook her head. “Why are you saying such polite things? As long as I can be with you, no matter how bitter or tiring it is, it’s worth it.”
Sister Fang was ultimately amused into laughter. “You don’t usually do this kind of work, do you?” As she spoke, she took off the sun hat on her head and placed it on Lin Xueyin’s head.
Lin Xueyin’s body stiffened. She lifted her head and looked at Sister Fang. The sun was bright overhead. She did not know whether it was the sunlight dazzling her eyes or something else, but as she touched the hat on her head and smelled the lingering clean fragrance of shampoo on it, Lin Xueyin only felt that the little deer in her heart was kicking so hard its hooves were about to fall apart.
