A Fishing-Type Omega Always Wants to Possess Me - Chapter 11
Jiang Yingqiu seemed to have been angered to the extreme. Her face went dark.
“Since you’re unwilling to do this and unwilling to do that, then go to the confinement room and kneel right now!”
“Couldn’t ask for more.”
Jiang Zhi even smiled. After saying that, she pushed back her chair and stood, then walked straight toward the small white building next door.
That posture did not look like someone going to be punished. Instead, she seemed as familiar with it as if she were returning to her own room.
After Jiang Zhi left, Jiang Yingqiu’s gaze fell on Yu Mianzhou, and her tone softened considerably.
“Mianzhou, how about I have the butler go for you tomorrow?”
Sometimes, Yu Mianzhou felt Jiang Yingqiu was a very strange person.
She was harsh toward her own biological daughter to an almost abnormal degree, yet she was willing to speak to a lodger like Yu Mianzhou, someone barely connected to her at all, in a nearly gentle tone.
“No need.” Yu Mianzhou lowered her eyes. “I’ve already been recommended for admission. It doesn’t matter if no one goes to the parent-teacher meeting.”
Jiang Yingqiu nodded and said nothing more.
The meal ended unhappily.
An hour later, Yu Shu knocked on Yu Mianzhou’s door.
Her expression was somewhat cautious, and she held a tray in her hands.
“I had someone prepare some food and drinks. Bring them to… to your Sister Jiang Zhi. I already begged your Aunt Jiang, and she agreed to let Zhizhi return to her room.”
She sighed. Then the subject shifted again and landed on Yu Mianzhou.
“It’s all our fault. You too, child. Since the parent-teacher meeting wasn’t absolutely necessary, why did you mention it to me? If you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have gone to your Aunt Jiang, and your Sister Jiang Zhi wouldn’t have been punished and made to kneel. I only hope Zhizhi won’t resent me because of what happened tonight…”
Yu Mianzhou thought of how, back then, she had not even been given the chance to say a second sentence.
But she had long since given up trying to correct her mother’s thoughts.
She only silently accepted the tray.
“I’ll bring it to her.”
Only then did Yu Shu reveal a faint, relieved smile.
“When you go, remember to properly apologize to your sister.”
Yu Mianzhou carried the tray out of the main building and entered the small white building next door.
The confinement room door was ajar. She freed one hand and pushed it open.
This was her first time coming here.
The instant the door opened, a thick darkness that had never seen daylight surged toward her, like some dormant beast opening its giant fanged mouth in the dark.
Yu Mianzhou reached out and pressed the switch on the wall.
With a snap, pale white light instantly illuminated the entire room.
She saw Jiang Zhi kneeling on the cold, hard floor with her back facing the doorway, her posture perfectly straight.
Yet not far beside her, there was clearly a cushion meant for kneeling.
Jiang Zhi knelt in place, her eyes lowered, as if she had fallen asleep.
Only when she heard movement did she lift her eyelids and look over.
Seeing that it was Yu Mianzhou, she tugged at the corner of her lips. Her voice was as weak as a thin sheet of paper.
“What are you doing here?”
After saying this, she seemed to use up all her strength. Her body could no longer support itself, and she fell straight backward.
Yu Mianzhou’s mind went blank. She subconsciously put down the tray in her hands, rushed forward in a few steps, and barely managed to support Jiang Zhi’s swaying body.
Only at such a close distance did Yu Mianzhou notice that, under the light, Jiang Zhi had seven densely packed piercings on her right ear alone.
Ear cartilage. Earlobe.
Two or three of them were even new. The edges were slightly red and swollen, as though they had been rubbed repeatedly, giving off a decadent sense of pain.
Yu Mianzhou’s lashes trembled slightly.
Jiang Zhi raised her hand, wanting to push her away, but Yu Mianzhou instead turned her hand and clasped Jiang Zhi’s palm.
Her grip was very strong. Very tight.
Jiang Zhi froze, looking somewhat surprised at this “younger sister” she had never once taken seriously.
Perhaps because of the lighting, Yu Mianzhou’s face was cut into two halves of light and shadow, making her appear colder and paler than usual.
There was a sharp sense of control about her.
Jiang Zhi felt those icy hands, felt Yu Mianzhou’s fingertips lightly touch her burning earlobe.
The next second, those full, red lips suddenly moved.
“Don’t become addicted to pain,” Yu Mianzhou said in a very low voice, yet it clearly drilled into Jiang Zhi’s ears. “There are many things better than being addicted to pain.”
Jiang Zhi’s pupils suddenly shrank.
For the first time, she looked at this cheap younger sister seriously.
……
A few days later, the college entrance exam ended. Yu Mianzhou’s school held a fireworks festival, and everyone was required to attend.
Unexpectedly, not only did Jiang Zhi come home that day, but when Yu Mianzhou was about to go out, she even took the initiative to offer to send her to school.
Yu Mianzhou did not know what Jiang Zhi was thinking, but she did not refuse.
The car stopped outside the best private high school in Songcheng.
Jiang Zhi had also graduated from here.
She familiarly led Yu Mianzhou around the sea of students on the sports field and went to a rooftop with fewer people.
There were already quite a few people gathered there, but it was much better than downstairs.
“The view is good here.” Jiang Zhi found a wide beam and sat down, her posture relaxed. “Let’s watch from here.”
Yu Mianzhou stared at the side of her face for two seconds, then sat down beside her.
At seven in the evening, the fireworks festival began on time.
Whoosh—bang!
The first firework exploded in the night sky, lighting up the midsummer wilderness.
Then came the second, the third…
Fireworks filled the sky with flowing light and color, like golden flowers embroidered across a vast blue satin.
Yu Mianzhou tilted her head up and watched, a little dazed.
Suddenly, a shadow covered her.
The next instant, a pair of cold, soft lips pressed down on hers without warning.
The world seemed to have been muted at that moment. All noise and color became nothing more than a backdrop.
Yu Mianzhou’s nose was filled with the sweet lychee scent from the woman’s body, mixed with the hot summer night wind and the faint smell of gunpowder smoke. Like the most addictive poppy, it bound every part of her body.
She could not move.
The woman kissed her urgently and fiercely, as though she wanted to squeeze out the last remaining air in Yu Mianzhou’s lungs.
No one knew how long passed before Jiang Zhi finally let go of her.
The fireworks were still blooming fiercely. Everyone had their heads raised, and no one noticed this tiny corner.
Jiang Zhi stared with great satisfaction at Yu Mianzhou’s lip bead, which she had bitten open until it bled. She seemed to sigh, and also seemed to admire it.
Beneath the gorgeous tide of light, red and white intertwined and blended together.
She lifted her own lips, which had also grown vivid from the kiss, and suddenly smiled.
“You were right.” Her voice carried a trace of victorious hoarseness. “There really are many ways more exciting than being addicted to pain.”
……
Yu Mianzhou was woken by a series of urgent phone vibrations.
She was lying on the sofa in the break room. It took her a few seconds to recover before she reached out to fumble for the phone that kept ringing.
She narrowed her eyes and saw the caller ID clearly—
Gu Wanlan.
“Hello?”
“Mianzhou, are you free tonight?” Gu Wanlan’s smiling voice came through the receiver. “Today is Zhizhi’s and my bachelor party. Do you want to come over and have fun?”
Yu Mianzhou glanced at the time on her phone.
Four-thirty in the afternoon.
She had actually slept for so long. She rubbed her aching temples.
“I’m still a bit busy here. I probably won’t be able to—”
Before she could finish, a new message popped up. It was from Yu Shu.
[Mianzhou, tonight is Zhizhi and Wanlan’s bachelor party. Remember to bring that girlfriend of yours and attend. You must go!]
Staring at the exclamation mark at the end, Yu Mianzhou closed her eyes and silently sighed. Then she said into the phone,
“Send me the address. I’ll be there later.”
After hanging up, she walked out of the break room and called Joyce along.
Because it was only a bachelor party before the wedding, the people attending were all friends familiar with the two of them. There was no need to dress too formally. Therefore, Yu Mianzhou did not take Joyce to get styled or even change clothes before going.
Upon learning she would get to see Jiang Zhi again, Joyce was so excited she could barely sit still.
But once the excitement passed, she suddenly remembered something and glanced painfully at Yu Mianzhou, who was driving.
“Elowen, according to what you said, Jiang Zhi’s relationship with you is so awkward, and she doesn’t like you… Then will she dislike me too?”
Yu Mianzhou overtook a car cleanly.
“Maybe.”
Joyce’s face collapsed at once, and her whole body wilted.
“But last time at dinner, she treated me pretty well. Could it be… all an act? Oh my God, our Jiang Zhi isn’t that terrifying, right? Although I’m your friend, I’m also her fan!”
Yu Mianzhou was somewhat speechless.
“I’ve known you for so many years. Am I still not as important as Jiang Zhi?”
Joyce looked like she was about to cry.
“How can that be the same? Let me say it again. That’s Jiang Zhi…”
……
Gu Wanlan had booked the entire second floor of Moon Above, Songcheng’s most exclusive club.
There were only two private rooms facing each other on the second floor, prepared respectively for Jiang Zhi’s and Gu Wanlan’s friends.
Because their family backgrounds were equal, both belonging to families at the very top of Songcheng’s pyramid, many people came, and most of them were young.
As soon as Yu Mianzhou stepped out of the elevator, she saw two rows of bodyguards in black suits standing on both sides of the corridor. Among them were a few familiar faces.
Her steps paused, and she turned to hold Joyce’s wrist.
There was no need to explain her tacit understanding with Joyce. Joyce immediately understood and smiled as she looped her arm around Yu Mianzhou’s, intimately leaning her head over.
“Darling, you’d better hold me tightly. There are so many people here. I’m afraid I’ll get lost.”
Yu Mianzhou turned and wrapped an arm around Joyce’s waist, her lips curving somewhat wantonly.
“Don’t worry.”
With Joyce at her side, she passed through the corridor lined with bodyguards and reached the fork between the two private rooms.
The room on the left was Jiang Zhi’s.
The door was not fully closed, leaving a crack.
Yu Mianzhou only glanced once and saw Jiang Zhi wearing an eye-catching red dress, surrounded by a group of people in the center. Her lips were curved. Who knew what she had heard, but she was smiling brightly and gorgeously, without the slightest trace of the sickliness from the day she had a fever.
Yu Mianzhou withdrew her gaze and walked straight toward the private room on the right.
Gu Wanlan’s private room was also lively, though not as exaggerated as the one opposite.
She was surrounded by friends. As soon as she saw Yu Mianzhou, she immediately smiled and said something to the people beside her, then stood to greet her.
“Mianzhou, Joyce, you’re here. Come in and sit. Relax and have fun. Don’t be polite.”
Yu Mianzhou nodded.
She could tell Gu Wanlan had something she wanted to say to her alone, and she also knew Joyce was not someone who could sit still.
She said to Joyce, “Go play if you want. You don’t have to stay with me.”
Joyce had also seen Jiang Zhi in the opposite room just now and was still immersed in the sorrow of “my idol might hate me.” She was planning to turn her grief and indignation into drinking capacity, so she immediately nodded.
“You two chat, then. I’ll go look over there!”
She was already a social butterfly, and she was beautiful too, with striking red waves. Very soon, someone invited her to join a card game not far away, and she quickly blended in with the group.
Seeing Joyce walk away, Gu Wanlan sat down beside Yu Mianzhou and asked softly,
“Mianzhou, has the boss of the company you just joined returned to the country? Have they appeared at the company lately?”
