After Transmigrating Into a Book, I Became That Omega - Chapter 11
September in Yun City was actually still hot.
Although Yun City Base was deep in the mountains, the lush greenery everywhere still could not hide the scorching weather.
After ten laps, the students in Formation Fifteen were practically about to collapse onto the ground.
Gan Xi was still standing off to the side, tapping his watch and gloating. “Three minutes left. Anyone who doesn’t make it to the cafeteria won’t get breakfast.”
After what had happened yesterday, no one dared look down on anything the instructors said anymore.
Sang Yuan led the group and charged into the cafeteria first, arriving at exactly the right time.
They had just sat down when they heard an instructor in the cafeteria shout, “Begin eating!”
Today, there was no more picky complaining like yesterday.
Everyone desperately stuffed food into their mouths.
They were terrified that by the time was up, they still would not have eaten more than a few bites and would have to go through the morning training on an empty stomach.
Facts proved that people still had potential.
This morning’s meal was eaten clean by everyone within ten minutes.
When they were told to stand, every single person sprang up neatly. Not one of them dragged things out.
“All class monitors, lead your formations to gather on the field.”
Yun City Base had specially sectioned off an area for Yun University students to train.
Small square formations were scattered loosely across the field.
There were a total of two thousand freshmen in this year’s batch at Yun University. With forty people in each formation, there were fifty formations in all.
Whether the instructors for the other formations were from special forces was unclear, but Sang Yuan felt that his own instructor most likely was.
Considering that they had just finished eating, Gan Xi had them stand in military posture directly. They stood for a full hour without Gan Xi calling for rest even once.
As soon as someone relaxed even slightly, Gan Xi could accurately call out their name and make them stand at the front, facing everyone else while holding the military posture.
Only when the next person was called out would they be replaced.
Those with thin skin were so embarrassed that they did not even dare raise their heads, yet they were still ordered to look forward.
Some female Betas who were called out even had slightly reddened eyes.
The people in Formation Fifteen had nearly gone wooden from standing before they finally heard Gan Xi speak.
“Rest in place for five minutes.”
Those words were like heavenly music, instantly bringing everyone back to life.
Sang Yuan also let out a breath of relief. Standing in military posture without moving was actually quite tiring.
Some students had already plopped down onto the ground, not wanting to move at all.
The fact that they had not lain flat on the ground was already their last bit of dignity.
“Class monitor, you actually weren’t called out even once.” Zhou Tong looked at Sang Yuan enviously.
He had been called out several times, and later on, he had almost wanted to just give up entirely.
“My face is thin. I’d feel too embarrassed standing at the front, so I could only try my best to do a little better.” Sang Yuan said this with an innocent face.
Zhou Tong choked at Sang Yuan’s words. This reason was very good and very powerful. He actually had no way to refute it, nor could he say that Sang Yuan was wrong.
“Everyone, stand up.” Gan Xi blew his whistle, immediately causing a wave of wails from the students.
“Oh my god, didn’t we just rest? Why do we have to stand up again?”
“Heavens, just strike me dead. I don’t want to get up.”
“What a demon instructor.”
No matter how the students complained, not a single one dared resist. They all obediently stood up.
Gan Xi looked with satisfaction at the students who were exhausted but still holding on.
There were still a few good seedlings among them. His gaze swept toward Sang Yuan, and seeing that Sang Yuan’s face was not red and he was not short of breath, a trace of satisfaction flashed through his eyes.
The entire morning passed amid standing in military posture and practicing stationary turns.
After finally enduring until noon, the students in every formation became a little restless, afraid that if their own formation was dismissed too late, they would not make it to the cafeteria in time to eat.
Fortunately, the instructors had no intention of making things difficult for them and directly let them go.
This time, not a single person complained. Once they arrived at the cafeteria and the command was given, they immediately grabbed steamed buns and stuffed them into their mouths.
Even the Omegas, who were usually delicate and spoiled every day, no longer cared about their image and hurried to eat.
Previously, some Omegas had only eaten symbolically. Who would have thought that although their training looked far lighter than the training for the Alphas and Betas, for Omegas, it still squeezed out every bit of their physical strength?
Military training continued like this for two or three days, and the students gradually adapted.
At four in the morning, the sound of a whistle echoed throughout the entire building. Sang Yuan jolted awake and directly jumped down from the upper bunk. “Wake up, emergency assembly.”
Zhou Tong slept beneath Sang Yuan and was the first to be woken by him. He rubbed his eyes, unable to open them. “What emergency assembly?”
Some students woke up one after another, while others slept more deeply and completely ignored Sang Yuan’s voice.
“If I were you, I’d put on my clothes right now. You all know the instructor’s methods. If you don’t want to die an ugly death, hurry up and get up.” Sang Yuan did not care whether the others would be punished or not, but as the temporary class monitor, he had to take responsibility for the people in the class.
No longer paying attention to the students in Room 103, he quickly opened the door and knocked on the door of Room 104. “Wake up quickly. Emergency assembly.”
After hearing movement coming from inside Room 104, Sang Yuan returned to Room 103.
“Sang Yuan, did you hear wrong?” Someone sat up in a daze, tilting his head and listening for a while, but he did not hear any other movement.
“Yeah, there doesn’t seem to be any sound. Only our dorm is up. Don’t tell me you were dreaming and dragged all of us out of bed too?”
Someone raised an objection.
Many people were not convinced by Sang Yuan, this acting class monitor.
Putting aside the fact that Alphas made up nearly half the class—at the very least, there were fifteen or sixteen of them. Having a Beta act as class monitor meant that not a single Alpha was convinced.
This was almost an ingrained flaw in society. All Alphas believed they were a level above Betas, and that their abilities were better than Betas by more than just a little.
They were very confused as to why the instructor had chosen a Beta instead of an Alpha to be class monitor.
They were suppressing their anger, but because of the instructor’s pressure, no one dared openly voice any opinions.
Now, in the middle of the night, Sang Yuan had woken everyone up, saying it was an emergency assembly. This made the people already exhausted from daytime training even more resentful.
Sang Yuan looked at everyone. Facing the anger of the Alphas, his face carried no fear at all. “If you don’t believe me, you can keep sleeping. When the time comes, don’t say I didn’t remind you.”
After saying that, Sang Yuan went straight to the corridor and waited for the students willing to go out with him.
Some people hesitated for a moment, but still quickly put on their clothes and walked over to Sang Yuan’s side.
In any case, they were already awake. If Sang Yuan had not heard wrong, then they would have escaped a disaster.
If he really had heard wrong, at most, they would accompany Sang Yuan outside once. It would not affect anything.
After confirming that no one else was coming out, Sang Yuan led the twenty-person group straight outside the dormitory building.
The moment they left the dormitory building, they saw the instructors standing outside.
The people who had followed him could not help feeling relieved. Good thing they had not gone against Sang Yuan. Sure enough, there really was an emergency assembly.
Students began coming out of the dormitory building one after another.
Those who came out silently stood in military posture according to their formations.
Some formations did not have a single person come out. The instructors of those formations had dark expressions, looking as if they had lost face. In anger, they blew their whistles again and shouted, “Emergency assembly!”
