Carrying My Senior's Coffin (GL) - Chapter 23
Who was this?
Was she one of the six girls who had played the Pen Spirit game?
One was already dead, leaving five.
The faces of those five girls flashed rapidly through Fang Yiyi’s mind, but with the ghost reduced to this state, there was no way to identify her.
After being chopped into countless pieces, the ghost stopped moving.
Fang Yiyi stood amid the pile of flesh, feeling somewhat bewildered.
Of all the ghosts she had encountered, whether it was Senior or Nancy, they had always been fiercely aggressive creatures of action.
They attacked the moment they decided to attack and tormented you the moment they decided to torment you. Within the limits of their abilities, they never gave their victims a single chance to breathe.
This ghost was unusually different.
It simply crouched there without moving, leaving Fang Yiyi uncertain what to do.
She looked again at the bisected human stump beneath the table.
It resembled a bloody decorative object.
Was it only trying to frighten her?
Fang Yiyi pondered for a moment, then cautiously avoided the chunks of flesh and walked toward the door.
It was currently dusk.
The sun was about to set, and its remaining light poured through the windows, stretching the shadows of the tables and chairs across the laboratory.
An upside-down shadow also appeared in front of Fang Yiyi.
Its head and neck were especially distinct.
Its shoulders formed sharp ninety-degree angles, but it had no arms.
She froze and immediately turned around.
The other half of the bisected body was hanging from the window frame directly behind her.
The fibrous matter resembling hair had been soaked through with dried blood. It was thin and sparse, clumped together against the scalp.
Parts of both cheeks looked as though they had been sliced away with a knife, leaving the remaining flesh mashed together.
Its eyes were sunken.
Most of them consisted of white, while the black pupils were so tiny they were nearly invisible.
It gave Fang Yiyi a strange smile.
…
She still could not recognize who it was.
Alarm bells rang inside Fang Yiyi’s mind.
Her right hand quietly reached for the Buddhist bead around her wrist.
Perhaps she was too nervous, because beneath its icy touch, she strangely sensed a hint of scorching heat.
The corner of her eye caught a flash of red.
Fang Yiyi instinctively looked over.
At some point, Li Ting had appeared.
“Senior!”
Fang Yiyi was delighted.
She immediately felt as though her safety had been secured.
Li Ting floated in midair.
“That’s disgusting. Deal with this one yourself.”
After speaking, she frowned in revulsion and floated even higher.
She even gathered up the drooping hem of her robe, afraid it might touch the chunks of flesh.
“Huh?”
Fang Yiyi noticed that the other half of the body beneath the table had begun crawling out.
Its severed surface remained pointed toward her, and the white brain matter rose and fell as though it were breathing.
“What am I supposed to do?” Fang Yiyi asked.
“Pile all the pieces together.”
Pile them together?
The first thing Fang Yiyi thought of was a broom.
Unfortunately, the water room was directly across from the laboratory, so all the cleaning tools had been stored there instead of inside the lab.
She looked toward the door.
At some point, it had become covered in yellow fat streaked with blood.
The sticky, greasy substance had nearly coated the entire surface.
Fang Yiyi: “!!!”
So disgusting!
There was already so much fat on the pieces of flesh.
How could there still be more?
Had this person been that fat?!
…
She seemed to have an idea who it was now.
The five faces passed through her mind once more.
This time, she managed to match one of them to the body.
Looking again at the half hanging from the window, perhaps because of the power of suggestion, she felt that the smile also looked somewhat familiar.
Mi Manman.
Because both sides of her cheeks had been sliced away, her broad face was gone, making her appearance so different that Fang Yiyi had failed to recognize her at first.
Besides, Manman had disliked moving.
She ran slowly and walked slowly as well.
Whenever Fang Yiyi had been sent out to buy snacks, seven out of ten trips had been for Manman.
That also explained why this corpse behaved so differently from the aggressively mobile Nancy.
Fang Yiyi’s eyes filled with pity.
“You really died horribly.”
There was movement near the floor.
She lowered her head and discovered that the half-body beneath the table had already crawled to her feet.
It swayed unsteadily, about to collide with her leg.
Fang Yiyi raised her foot and stepped backward.
The half-body toppled to the ground with a wet splat, knocking out some of its white brain matter.
Fang Yiyi: “…”
A foul odor reached her nose.
It did not seem to be coming from the thing at her feet.
She looked up and saw that the half with the face was swinging back and forth from the window frame.
The arc of each swing grew wider than the last, while the expression on its face became increasingly excited.
The stench intensified as well.
It resembled a pendulum made from rotting flesh, which looked inexplicably ridiculous.
Fang Yiyi’s eyebrow twitched.
She had the strange feeling that it was…
Gathering momentum?
The thing swung backward until it was nearly perpendicular to the window frame.
Then, with a whoosh, it detached itself and flew directly toward her.
The overwhelming stench rushed along with it.
Fang Yiyi: “…”
She turned sideways.
The swinging half-body flew past her and slammed into the spotless white wall.
With a wet splat, blood, flesh, and brain matter sprayed outward like splashing water.
Red, white, and yellow substances smeared across the wall.
At the same time, the half-body near her feet struggled upright and leaned toward her again.
Fang Yiyi had no choice but to step aside once more.
The human stump fell to the ground again, spilling out another portion of brain matter.
After two rounds, Fang Yiyi remained completely unharmed.
Manman, on the other hand, had smashed herself all over the room.
A lump of white brain matter had even splattered onto Fang Yiyi’s pants.
Fang Yiyi stared miserably at her pants, unable to understand why Manman insisted on hurting herself like this.
Although Li Ting was floating in the air, she was rather close to the wall.
To avoid being splattered with flesh and blood, she briefly turned transparent.
When her figure reappeared, she said unhappily, “Why are you wasting time? This is revolting.”
“If you don’t clean it up quickly and the stench clings to you, you can spend the entire night rinsing yourself in the bathroom.”
Fang Yiyi shuddered at the thought.
If she soaked in the bathroom all night, she would probably turn into a waterlogged mushroom.
However, she truly had no idea how to resolve the situation.
There was not even a broom!
She looked down at her hands.
Her throat moved as she silently abandoned that idea.
Senior herself found it disgusting.
From what Li Ting had said, Fang Yiyi, as Senior’s possession, was apparently also forbidden from getting any of it on her.
She could try using her bare hands to pile everything together, but that would defeat the entire purpose.
Smelling the increasingly powerful stench in the air, Fang Yiyi sighed.
Life was so difficult.
The half-body with the face had already torn itself away from the wall.
It glared desperately at Fang Yiyi.
Its sunken eye slowly bulged outward, then fell to the floor with a sticky plop.
Fang Yiyi: “…”
Manman’s human stump: “…”
Manman moved.
She fell face-first onto the ground, shoving the eyeball back into its socket.
One had to admit that she displayed remarkable determination despite her disability!
Fang Yiyi avoided the other half as it leaned toward her again and looked around.
On a nearby laboratory bench, someone had inexplicably left a pair of gleaming hand cymbals.
She walked over and picked them up in confusion, feeling slightly comforted.
At the very least, she could use them to scrape the fat stuck to the door.
At that moment, the severed limbs scattered across the floor suddenly began trembling in perfect unison.
Fang Yiyi was startled.
All the chunks of flesh on the floor rose along with her gaze!
In an instant, rib-like pieces of meat and shredded chunks of fat filled the air.
Manman’s body had flown up by itself!
Fang Yiyi’s expression sharpened.
Holding one cymbal in a single hand, she braced herself against the laboratory bench and sprang upward.
Using the momentum, she swiftly vaulted over it.
The moment she landed, she bent her knees and crouched without pausing.
The half with the back of the head flew over her.
It had finally revealed its true nature.
Fang Yiyi suddenly relaxed.
It was better that everything could move on its own.
She truly did not want to use a cymbal the size of a washbasin to slowly scrape everything together!
Even after scraping it all up, she might not be able to wash the cymbal clean!
And even if she did clean it, could something that had been used to scoop up human-meat paste ever be used again?!
A ghostly face without cheeks flew toward her.
Fang Yiyi darted behind another laboratory bench and narrowly avoided it.
She looked at the pieces of flesh flying throughout the room, the bits stuck to the doors and windows, and the shredded fat trembling restlessly.
She considered how she could gather them all in one place.
“Senior,” she asked Li Ting, “can’t you simply burn it like this?”
Li Ting asked in return, “Can you be useful for once? Stop acting like a complete waste.”
“…”
Fine.
Fang Yiyi now understood.
Li Ting was deliberately forcing her to deal with the ghost herself.
Since Fang Yiyi lacked the ability to destroy Manman, Li Ting had lowered the requirement.
She only needed to gather all the pieces together.
A wave of heat came from the bottom of her pants.
Fang Yiyi looked down.
At some point, the white brain matter that had splattered onto her trouser leg had transformed into a blood-red paste.
It was spreading rapidly in every direction.
“!”
Fang Yiyi instinctively tried to tear off the trouser leg.
However, the floating pieces of meat suddenly attacked.
Like a school of fish in the sea, they gathered together and flew toward her all at once.
Fang Yiyi had no choice but to dodge first.
Unexpectedly, the chunks changed direction midway and flew toward her again.
They pursued her several times in succession as though they had eyes.
Because of this, she no longer had time to deal with her pants.
Fang Yiyi knew she could not continue like this.
Gritting her teeth, she dodged the swarm of flesh while reaching down and yanking off her pants.
She alternately kicked her feet twice, quickly shedding the pants and tossing them aside.
Two pale bare legs darted back and forth.
All the pieces of flesh were now airborne, leaving the floor remarkably clean.
With nothing left to worry about, Fang Yiyi rolled across the floor while holding a cymbal.
She reached the rear of the half with the back of the head and struck it fiercely.
Clang!
With a dull metallic impact, the half-body flew forward toward the floating pile of flesh.
The chunks hurriedly gathered around it like a school of fish trying to catch it.
After half its body was ambushed, the remaining half opened its enormous mouth and lunged furiously toward Fang Yiyi, its eyes nearly splitting apart.
Along the way, it flung out another eyeball.
Fang Yiyi had only just regained her balance.
Seeing that she would not be able to dodge in time, she instinctively slammed the two cymbals together.
The lunging half-body was caught firmly between them.
Duang!
Separated by half a human head, the two cymbals produced a dull sound that was not particularly loud.
Seeing this, Li Ting raised an eyebrow in surprise.
The half-head with the face grew dizzy from the vibration of the cymbals and wobbled toward the floor.
Fang Yiyi’s body moved faster than her thoughts.
Holding the cymbal in her left hand, she struck upward from below, as though hitting a badminton shuttlecock.
The instant the half-body bounced into the air, her right hand followed swiftly and struck it hard with the flat surface of the other cymbal.
The half-body with the face was also launched toward the pile of flesh.
Now all the pieces had gathered together.
“Senior!” Fang Yiyi shouted.
Before her voice had even faded, a cluster of ghostly blue flames ignited among the flesh.
In an instant, the fire surrounded the entire pile.
Manman released a piercing scream and transformed into black ash, gradually disappearing as it fell.
Fang Yiyi was just about to sigh in relief when she suddenly noticed something.
She cried out and sprinted across the room in several frantic bounds.
As she ran, she shouted, “Senior, don’t burn my pants!”
