After the Early-Deceased White Moonlight of a Wealthy Family Returns (GL) - Chapter 59
“You’an…” Su Wu said coldly, “Have you forgotten? The goal of today’s experiment has been achieved. We don’t need to continue anymore.”
As she spoke, she reached out and plucked the little tail that was scurrying under her white lab coat.
“But you said you would reward me.” Shen You’an’s tail flicked back and forth fitfully, her gaze stubborn. “Can’t I have the reward for a bit longer?”
“Besides, A-jie, didn’t you say you had a hypothesis? You need experimental data. Have you finished collecting all of it?”
Su Wu: “I thought you hadn’t listened to a word I said.”
Shen You’an: “I did.”
Su Wu brushed away the face that was leaning in toward her.
Shen You’an said pitifully, “A-jie, I’m not full yet. I only took two or three sips of blood, and just now, I didn’t eat much. A-jie, I was afraid I’d eat all your saliva dry, so I wanted to try something else.”
Su Wu’s brain throbbed.
“Still hungry?” She felt a twinge of pity.
Shen You’an nodded vigorously and added, “A-jie is too delicious; I can’t help wanting to eat more.”
Su Wu: “………………”
Seeing Su Wu’s silence, Shen You’an added, “But it’s okay if we don’t eat!”
She fought to control her bone wings, preventing them from flapping restlessly due to hunger. And her tail—she had to make it stay quiet and obedient. It was true that she wasn’t full; Shen You’an felt as though every cell under her skin was tearing apart because of her unfulfilled appetite. Enduring and suppressing this mad desire, which came from nowhere and was unlike anything she’d felt before, was becoming difficult to bear.
Fine beads of sweat broke out on her forehead.
“A-jie, let’s finish for today,” she said.
How could Su Wu have the heart to stop now?
She sighed, reached out to wipe away You’an’s sweat, and heard herself say, as if resigning to fate, “Let’s move.”
“Come here.”
To Su Wu’s commands, Shen You’an was mostly obedient. For example, now—if Su Wu told her to lower her head, she did. If Su Wu told her to come over, she did. The woman’s hands undid the shackles, and with a clatter, the metal chains fell to the floor.
“Carry me to the table,” she said.
Shen You’an moved quickly. Holding her, her tail swept across the experimental table, sending the data-recording papers flying and scattering to the floor. On a clean patch of the tabletop, Shen You’an carefully placed Su Wu down.
“Turn off the lights,” Su Wu said.
The little tail received the command, extended outward, and with a click, turned off all the basement lights.
In the entire space, only the red and blue fluorescence on the electronic screen flashed and interlaced.
“A-jie…” The little monster was both pitiful and expectant. “Does this mean you agree?”
Su Wu reached back and picked up the timer on the table.
“Last fifteen minutes,” she said.
These fifteen minutes.
Su Wu thought: This is an indulgence for Shen You’an, and an indulgence for myself.
The woman tilted the little monster’s chin up, warning her, “Even if you aren’t full, you’ll endure the hunger when the time is up.”
A flash of joy appeared in You’an’s eyes. She leaned in affectionately, nuzzling Su Wu’s cheek and using licks to express her emotions like an animal.
With one hand supporting herself on the experimental table and the other cupping Su Wu’s face, she initiated another kiss.
Not until the flame Su Wu had tried so hard to suppress began to smolder again did You’an stop and move to another spot.
It’s almost worse than sucking blood, Su Wu thought. This is too much of a torment.
Her body was already incredibly sensitive due to the special chain reaction caused by the blood loss, and now she was being—
“Is it really delicious?” she asked, frowning. “It’s all sweat.”
“I like it,” Shen You’an said, almost ravenously. “I like everything that’s yours, A-jie.”
Hunger was no longer just a metaphor for her. Every movement manifested her instinctive desire and deep longing. She couldn’t even bear to let her lips and teeth leave the snowy-white skin for a single moment.
The fine sweat on Su Wu’s neck and collarbone was cleaned away completely by Shen You’an. In its place, wet, warm marks were left on the skin.
“A-jie, may I?”
“…The fifteen-minute alarm hasn’t gone off,” Su Wu answered evasively.
Shen You’an tilted her head and tentatively moved the fabric aside. Her eyes watched the woman’s reaction every second, her head tilted up, afraid Su Wu was uncomfortable or in pain.
“Can I eat?” she asked. “There’s a little sweat here, too.”
Su Wu couldn’t take it. She reached out and covered You’an’s eyes, not letting her see her reaction.
“Since when does someone eating a steak ask the steak for its opinion?” Su Wu said with a hint of bashful annoyance.
“A-jie, I was wrong.” She rubbed against her playfully. “I didn’t mean it that way.”
“A-jie, can you let me go?” Shen You’an requested.
“No,” Su Wu gritted her teeth. “If you’re going to eat, eat. Why do you keep staring at my face?”
Shen You’an: “…It’s beautiful.”
Su Wu: “Does it help the appetite?”
Shen You’an felt a surge of heat from Su Wu’s words. Why did A-jie always compare herself to steak or rice? It was different. She stopped asking politely and stopped seeking total confirmation. Just as she had licked away the rest of the sweat, she licked with a sudden, fierce intensity.
With the first taste, Shen You’an’s eyes widened in surprise.
Su Wu clearly felt the eyelashes fluttering against her palm—ticklish, tingly, and numbing.
Around You’an’s neck was still the black leather and metal collar designed to stop the monster’s transformation. These materials inadvertently rubbed against soft places with the wearer’s movements.
With a second taste, she ate again, tentatively.
Like a caramel soufflé custard. It wobbled at a touch, swaying back and forth. The curious little monster found it hard to distinguish this special texture and, leaning against her chest, tried repeatedly.
A palm was the best container to catch the swaying.
“Ngh—!”
“Enough.”
“You’an! Don’t bite!”
Shen You’an let go with her teeth innocently, explaining, “I didn’t suck blood.”
“…Don’t bite either.”
“Did I hurt you, A-jie?”
“………………” It wasn’t a question of whether it hurt! How was she supposed to explain? Was there no biology class ten years ago? Why didn’t Shen Huaijin know to explain things to her sister?
“I’ll be gentler, okay?” she asked for permission.
Su Wu: “It’s not a matter of pressure, it’s—!!”
“You’re still eating!” The woman’s annoyed palm struck the little monster’s back. The sensible bone wings retracted into a small ball, allowing her palm to land on skin rather than the sharp points that would draw blood.
Even when hit, Shen You’an wouldn’t let go. She just kept nursing.
Su Wu tried to reason: “There’s… ngh… there’s no liquid, what… what are you eating… ah…”
“Fragrant,” she muttered. “Delicious.”
“Enough! I’m not your mother! …You… you won’t get any milk no matter how much you eat!”
Shen You’an let go with her mouth but not her hands, holding her, though her head moved further away.
“A-jie said it herself before—that I could call you mother.”
“If I call you mother, can I eat, and will there be milk?”
Su Wu: “………………”
“I was joking,” she said, trying desperately to restrain herself.
“I wasn’t joking.” Shen You’an was very serious, her nose sniffing. “I think there could be.”
“I can smell it; if I eat more, it will come out.”
“A-jie, I want to drink milk.”
“…Shut up.”
Shen You’an shut up. But she shut up while her mouth was still full.
Su Wu was truly on the verge of a breakdown. Her fingertips gripped the little monster’s hair tightly, or left marks on her back. To Shen You’an, this strength meant nothing. Compared to gunshots and ammunition, the harm Su Wu could cause her was minuscule.
Yet, somehow, it was exactly this—this nearly non-existent force—that made her body tremble. A certain nerve, akin to battle and hunger, was piqued, making her want to do something more to make Su Wu use more force on her.
Buzzzzz—!!
The phone vibrated, its tone breaking the deadlock. The fifteen minutes were up.
Shen You’an was reluctant, but she was obedient and followed the rules. She let go of Su Wu.
However, the hand tightly covering her eyes did not let go.
Shen You’an: “A-jie…?”
The scent of the ocean she had smelled while sucking blood became clear.
“Turn around,” Su Wu said.
Shen You’an didn’t understand, but she turned her back to Su Wu. Her ears were very sharp. She heard Su Wu pulling up a shoulder strap—it must be lace; she had seen it and touched it with the tip of her nose. Then she put on a camisole; the texture was silk. Then the white lab coat; she seemed to get stuck on a button, struggling with it.
“A-jie, let me help?”
“No,” Su Wu said. “Don’t turn around.”
Su Wu lowered her head, tidying her disheveled appearance, and took a look at herself in her phone screen. Flushed face, misty eyes, tender lips. She looked nothing like a “good big sister.”
“I’m going up to take a shower,” she said. “Change your clothes.”
The inner shirt Shen You’an was wearing had long since been torn at the shoulders and back due to her transformation.
She said okay.
When she turned around, Su Wu had already left.
Shen You’an looked down at her palm, slowly squeezed it, then raised her hand to touch her own. Her tail followed, touching it twice before moving away with a lack of interest.
“You also think A-jie’s are softer?” she asked, tugging at the tail.
The tail twisted and its tip nodded.
Shen You’an smiled. “So, where did you touch her?”
Sensing trouble, the tail tried to slip away, but it was pinned directly to the table by Shen You’an’s bone spurs.
“Even though we are one, and technically you are me and I am you, I still don’t like this behavior.”
The tail felt wronged but couldn’t whine, so it could only tremble. This unreasonable little monster! It was clearly just the manifestation of her own instincts! It wasn’t the tail that loved to knead; it was she herself! Now that she had kneaded them herself, she wouldn’t let the tail touch!
It shrieked a silent, angry cry, and with a swish, the black shadow dispersed and vanished.
Shen You’an changed her clothes and picked up the scattered documents, placing them on the table. But her gaze suddenly froze.
On the white paper in black ink, it was written:
The research subject appears to secrete certain inducer molecules during feeding, causing a ‘pro-lust’ reaction in the subject being consumed.
Preliminary judgment: This is an evolutionary mechanism based on predatory instinct to control prey.
At the same time, she noticed a slight damp spot where Su Wu had just been sitting. She lowered her head and leaned in; her keen nose picked up the scent immediately. It was sweet and salty—the scent of the ocean she had been faintly smelling.
The beast she had finally suppressed was suddenly awakened again. The steady data on the monitoring screen began to shriek once more.
Shen You’an turned away, tilted her head, and unplugged the monitor. Then, almost piously, she crouched down, leaned over, and gave the tabletop a gentle lick.
The next moment, her body also reacted.
She finally knew.
In this night, it wasn’t just the sea breeze that brought the scent of the ocean. And it wasn’t just rain that dripped silently.
Shen You’an savored the taste on the tip of her tongue, pondered the analysis on the data sheet, and walked out of the basement.
