After Transmigrating into a Book, I Became the Vicious Female Supporting Lead - Chapter 6
As the two stepped out of the Director’s office, Mu Yunge led Lin Qiyan to a relatively secluded corner.
She pulled the blocker from the bag and looked down as she unwrapped the packaging. “Yan Yan, shall I help you spray it?”
Lin Qiyan didn’t think twice about it. She nodded and turned her back to her, gathering the stray hairs at her nape upward. Her scent glands were now completely exposed to the gaze of an Alpha. Her skin was very pale, and the area around the glands was tinged with a delicate pink.
Mu Yunge swept her gaze over the spot, her slender, fair fingers gripping the bottle. Her eyes flickered over the label, pausing for an imperceptible second, before she casually reached out her other hand to hook Lin Qiyan’s back collar and pull it down slightly, exposing the glands more fully.
Spraying the blocker was simple: aim at the spot and press the pump twice.
Lin Qiyan felt a cool sensation on her neck as a light, fresh fragrance drifted to her nose.
“All done.”
The hand left her nape, and Lin Qiyan dropped her arms. She turned around, her nose twitching as she sniffed the air. “This scent is so nice, but I can’t quite describe it.”
Mu Yunge brushed it off nonchalantly. “My little uncle likes researching these things.”
After packing the items away, she looked up with a fresh smile. “Alright, Yan Yan, let’s go look at apartments and hit the mall.”
Seeing how high her spirits were, Lin Qiyan said hesitantly, “Yunge, my budget isn’t very large.”
She was relying entirely on the original owner’s small “private vault,” and there wasn’t much left in it.
Mu Yunge replied, “Don’t worry, I know a few student apartments with great price-to-performance ratios.”
They spent the entire morning running around. With Mu Yunge’s help, Lin Qiyan successfully rented an apartment at an impossibly low price and picked up some miscellaneous daily necessities.
As noon approached, the sun scorched the earth ruthlessly. Lin Qiyan, wearing a faux-layered denim set, sat in a milk tea shop with Mu Yunge. The cool air from the AC washed away their fatigue and the heat.
Soon, their number was called at the counter. Lin Qiyan went to fetch their drinks.
Mu Yunge’s phone, sitting on the table, buzzed. She swiped to open it.
[Tang Ziqian: Mu Yunge, you actually skipped class behind my back?! Do you have another ‘O’ out there?!]
[Tang Ziqian: Quickly tell me who the little vixen is, or I’ll kill myself.]
Mu Yunge tapped out a reply.
[Mu: Shall I provide the tools?]
[Tang Ziqian: …Mu Yunge, you have no heart.]
Mu Yunge ignored that and replied to the previous message.
[Mu: Lin Qiyan.]
For the next two seconds, Mu Yunge experienced extreme vibration. Her phone felt like it was about to explode.
[Tang Ziqian: Lin Qiyan? Why are you hanging out with her?]
[Tang Ziqian: Careful she doesn’t stick to you like glue—you won’t be able to peel her off. The disgusting things she’s done are all over school. You’re the only ‘High Mountain Flower’ who doesn’t listen to gossip.]
[Tang Ziqian: Take a tip from your childhood friend: don’t get too close to her, it’ll bring misfortune. This morning, a video of her throwing a tantrum was spreading like wildfire on the school forums.]
[Tang Ziqian: I mean, the Lin family is bankrupt, where does she get the nerve to be so arrogant?]
Mu Yunge interrupted her.
[Mu: What video?]
The other side didn’t catch the shift and kept venting.
[Tang Ziqian: Even if she is an Omega, so what? They only get special treatment in school. Out in society, an O’s status is bottom-tier.]
[Tang Ziqian: Hmm? Yunge, you want to see? Let me find it.]
[Tang Ziqian: ]
A few more lines followed, but Mu Yunge didn’t read them. She clicked the video.
The clip wasn’t long, and the cause and effect were clear. The other girl had dirtied Lin Qiyan’s desk first and poured water on her. Lin Qiyan, without a word, walked to the girl’s seat and straightforwardly kicked her desk over.
Seeing this, Mu Yunge’s brow arched slightly. She had thought Lin Qiyan might endure it just because the other person was a girl; it seemed she wasn’t that stupid.
Returning to the chat, she ignored her friend’s string of messages.
[Mu: Did you not see the beginning?]
[Tang Ziqian: What?]
[Mu: The other person moved first.]
[Tang Ziqian: But based on Lin Qiyan’s usual track record, she must have done something first to make them react.]
Mu Yunge frowned slightly. Before she could say anything, Lin Qiyan walked over carrying a tray. Mu Yunge darkened her screen and flipped her phone face-down on the table.
Lin Qiyan sat down opposite her and placed a cup of milk tea by her hand. “Try this, the flavor is really good.”
Mu Yunge took a small sip. A light milky aroma mixed with clear tea spread across her tongue, conquering every corner of her taste buds. Mu Yunge rarely visited places like this; she had been to plenty of high-end cafes where top-tier baristas competed, but she had never had this. The novelty was even more satisfying than the taste.
Lin Qiyan watched Mu Yunge with a look of anticipation. The beautiful girl set down her cup and crinkled her eyes at her. “It’s very good. Thank you for the milk tea, Yan Yan.”
Lin Qiyan: “I should be the one thanking you for walking so far with me in this heat.”
Mu Yunge: “You’re welcome.”
The atmosphere in the shop was quite tranquil, with decorative bells on the ceiling swaying slightly and tinkling pleasantly. Directly across from Lin Qiyan sat a same-sex couple. One girl had her hand on the other’s waist; she giggled as she leaned in and stole a quick kiss. The girl who was kissed gave her a look of mild exasperation.
Lin Qiyan took all of this in. First, her eyes widened, then she choked on her milk tea.
[They kissed! They kissed!]
Mu Yunge followed her gaze, turning her head to see the couple as well. It was an Alpha and an Omega.
Withdrawing her gaze, Mu Yunge lowered her eyes in thought.
